Great Basin College Description:

Great Basin College is located in Elko--a town of about 18,000, in northeast Nevada. Opened in 1967 as Elko Community College, GBC has expanded and been renamed a few times. It currently has about 3,000 students; most students earn a 2-year Associate's Degree, but there are plenty of opportunities for four-year Bachelor Degrees as well. Many of its programs are vocational--Nursing, Education, Business, and Criminal Justice are among the most popular.

Outside of the classrom, GBC offers a variety of clubs--ranging from honor societies, to sports teams, to gaming and recreational organizations.
