How to Add Swing Weights to Golf Club Heads
- 1). Cut off a strip of lead tape. Generally you want two oz. of weight to adjust the club one weight point. Look at the package to determine weight per length of tape.
- 2). Apply lead tape to the club head. You can typically do this by sticking it to the bottom of the club.
- 3). Wrap the tape around the top of the club head at the base of the shaft if you cannot fit it on the bottom.
- 4). Apply lead tape to the top of the shaft below the grip to counter the weight of the head and make it seem lighter.
- 5). Take the club to a golf shop and have the shaft replaced with a lighter material. This increases the weight of the head in proportion to the rest of the club.
