Blue Screen Computer Problems
- A Windows blue screen error is a serious error presented to you when you start their machine. It is characterized by a variety of error messages in white text on a blue screen background. Blue screen errors prevents from operating Windows normally or reinstalling the operating system.
- To effectively diagnose and repair a blue screen errors, you must determine which type of blue screen error with which you are dealing. The key to doing this is looking for a line of text that reads: "The problem seems to be caused by the following file." After this line of text, the error will display a file name. If this line of text is present, the blue screen error is caused by a corrupt file which needs to be deleted. If it is not present, the computer's display drivers need to be reinstalled.
- You can reinstall a computer's display drivers by pressing "F8" when the computer boots up. This will bring you to a menu in which they can then boot the computer in safe mode. Once in safe mode, you can reinstall display drivers by right-clicking on the "Display Adapter" icon in the Device Manager menu and clicking "Uninstall." After the drivers are uninstalled, you can reinstall them by selecting them from their location on the computer's hard disk.
- Reinstalling display drivers may fix a blue screen error; it may also prompt another blue screen error that displays the name of the corrupted file causing the error. If this is the case, users must re-enter safe mode and type the file's name into the Windows search bar on their Start menu. Once the file is located, it can be deleted by right-clicking on it and selecting "Delete." Then, you must right-click on the same file in the Recycle Bin and select "Delete" to repair a blue screen error.
