How to Add Lining to Bamboo Shades
- 1). Spread your unbleached cotton poplin onto a clean floor or large table. Iron it lightly to remove any noticeable creases.
- 2). Unroll your bamboo shades completely so that they are flat. Set them on top of your cotton poplin and then use your tailor's chalk to trace the shape onto the poplin.
- 3). Cut the fabric along the traced tailor's chalk line. Fold the edges in 1/4 of an inch towards the back side of the fabric, pinning the fold in place as you go along. Use an iron to set the crease.
- 4). Preheat your hot glue gun, ensuring it is loaded with glue.
- 5). Glue the unbleached cotton poplin onto the back of the unrolled bamboo shades. Work quickly to ensure that the hot glue does not dry before you position the poplin lining. The lining should be centered and there will be a 1/4-inch border all the way around the shade that is not lined.
- 6). Allow the hot glue to completely cool and dry and then roll up the bamboo shades and hang them normally.
