Tips to Help You Get Lean and Trim

103 30
Some of you may have been recently plagued by this...
some of you have been for much longer...
that abdominal fat that just won't go away.
There are many things that contribute to this, but there is a way to handle it.
It just takes a little discipline and always keeping your goal in mind.
Though starvation diets or fasting may be tempting in order to get your tummy flat quickly, these methods do not work.
In fact, you end up gaining all the weight right back.
Nor does just a certain diet work alone.
The most proven method is a combination of diet and correct exercise.
Now, the word "diet" itself has gotten a bad name over the years.
When people think of "diet" they think of bland tasteless food and being hungry all the time.
One definition of diet is "controlled intake of food or drink designed for weight loss for health or religious reasons or to control or improve a medical condition.
" You'll notice that the definition says "controlled".
It doesn't say the amount a bird eats or so little that you are tempted to take food off a family member's plate when they are looking the other way.
It says controlled.
Now, controlled intake will, of course, have to do with what you actually eat.
(As a teenager I went on an all candy diet - for real - that I read about in a supermarket tabloid.
) The amount you eat takes into account your height, weight, age and gender.
So it isn't a matter of caloric intake alone.
It is a matter of the correct combination of foods.
While it is true that you need a balanced diet, it should not include potatoes, rice or bread at dinner as is commonly thought.
These foods spike your insulin and blood sugar, which then causes you to gain fat.
A big factor in the accumulation and loss of abdominal fat is "feeding" your adrenal glands correctly.
It is a little known fact that the adrenal glands monitor many, many hormonal and metabolic processes in the body.
Commonly when the adrenal glands are out of whack a person will gain weight.
To keep your adrenal glands happy (and to lose weight) and feel good at the same time you need to: 1) eat 6 small meals a day, 2) have protein at every meal, 3) don't eat only animal protein but get your protein from nuts and legumes as well, 4) eat lots of vegetables, 5) eat dinner by 5 p.
m.
if possible.
By doing this you will give your body regular fuel which will actually help you lose weight and keep you from starving.
The other important factor is exercise.
Walking is universally good.
Just make sure you have proper, comfortable shoes.
Besides being a calorie burner, it's good for your mental outlook to get outdoors.
Secondly, Pilates are fantastically effective for shedding that abdominal fat, for men too.
Pilates specifically addresses your core.
There are many DVD and books available on how to do Pilates, as well as private lesson and group lessons offered at gyms.
Do these things and you will certainly see a difference and remember...
keep your mind on the goal!
