How to Clean a Stove Without Streaking
- 1). Put on rubber gloves to protect your hands from grease and cleansers.
- 2). Fill the sink with water, and place all removable grates and knobs in it. Add dishwashing soap until the water becomes sudsy, and let the items soak until you finish the rest of the cleaning.
- 3). Apply a little dishwashing liquid onto a cloth, and wet it. Wring all the excess water out of the cloth, and use it to wipe down all the stained and smudged areas on the oven. Add more soap or water as necessary. Once you're finished, rinse the cloth thoroughly, and then use it to wash away the soapy residue on the stove. Use long strokes to help reduce streaking. Continue until the stovetop is completely clean.
- 4). Buff the stove with a dry towel until all water streaks are gone.
- 5). Wash and rinse the items in the sink, and replace them on the counter to dry. Lay them on a towel to keep the water from running onto the counter or floor. Put them back on the stove once they're dried.
