How to Trim Brown Leaves From Peace Lily Plants
- 1). Trim the browned leaves from the lily with sharp clippers, as far down on the stem as possible. Clipping the leaves off lower on the plant allows more energy to go to the other parts of the plant. Ensure that you make a clean cut with the clippers and don't tear or twist the stem.
- 2). Stop watering and allow the plant to fade and wither slightly. Mist the plant near the soil and along the leaves to imitate the plant's natural tropical habitat, for about six weeks.
- 3). Remove more browned leaves as necessary.
- 4). Move the plant to a bright location with indirect sunlight. Direct sunlight may cause the leaves to burn.
- 5). Apply an all-purpose liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every two to three months during the plant's growing season. Follow manufacturer's instructions for the application quantities.
