How to Make a Old Drawstring Ponytail Look New
- 1). Brush the drawstring ponytail with a wide-toothed comb to remove any tangles. Start at the top of the ponytail and work your way down. Spray the ponytail with a light coating of synthetic hair detangler to help remove any nasty snarls.
- 2). Wet the ponytail with cold water. Squirt 1 tbsp. normal shampoo into the hands and work it into the drawstring ponytail from the top down to the tips of the hair. Avoid scrubbing the ponytail to prevent breakage.
- 3). Rinse the shampoo out and apply a thin layer of normal conditioner to the ponytail in the same manner as the shampoo.
- 4). Allow the conditioner to sit for two minutes before thoroughly rinsing the hair with cold water.
- 5). Wrap the ponytail with a towel. Gently squeeze the towel to remove the excess water from the drawstring ponytail.
- 6). Lay the drawstring ponytail onto a towel and allow it to air dry completely.
- 7). Brush the drawstring ponytail with a wide-tooth comb to remove any tangles once the piece is completely dry.
- 8). Repeat the process of brushing and washing the drawstring ponytail every five to six uses.
