- 1). Recruit skilled volleyball players by looking for talented athletes and asking them to play for you. Successful coaches of winning teams must have strong players.
- 2). Coach at a school that supports you. You'll need financial resources and the support of school administrators to run a reputable program. Keep looking until you find the right job for you.
- 3). Teach life skills. For example, don't allow players to gloat when they win. As a volleyball coach, you have the opportunity to teach players about teamwork and dedication. Teach dedication by establishing rules, such as making players run a lap for each minute they arrive to practice late.
