    • 1). Arrange your pearls ahead of time and add other beads or charms if desired. It will be difficult to change the design or restring the pearls, so planning is important. Use enough beads for the bracelet to go around your wrist easily.

    • 2). Cut a length of silk thread. Silk is the traditional material used for stringing pearls, though you can use synthetic threads. Tie a simple knot in the end and cut off the tail of the knot.

    • 3). Thread the needle. Push the needle through the hole in the clamshell jewelry finding and pull through. The knot should be inside the clamshell. Press the clamshell closed with jewelry pliers. You may want to add jewelry glue or superglue for additional security.

    • 4). Make a simple overhand knot against the outside of the clamshell, as close to the finding as possible.

    • 5). Push the needle through the hole of the first pearl or bead in your arrangement, then pull, drawing the thread through the pearl. Push the pearl all the way down the thread to the knot by the clamshell. Tie another overhand knot as close to the pearl as possible, holding it in place. Repeat with each pearl or bead, keeping them as close together as possible.

    • 6). Push the needle through the hole in the second clamshell from the outside. Tie a knot inside the shell. Cut off the excess, then close clamshell.

    • 7). Open two jump rings, then put each through the loops in the clamshell findings. Attach each end of the clasp to a jump ring, then close the rings.
