Pregnancy and Morning Sickness
Morning Sickness - I really don't know why it starts with the word morning, it can occur at any time of the day.
For most women it starts rearing its ugly head between week 4 and 6, usually just after the party to celebrate the pregnancy.
It certainly brings you down to earth with a bump.
Unfortunately for up to 75% of women Pregnancy and Morning Sickness go together hand in hand.
The best way to describe it, is its like having a permanent hangover.
Once I told my husband this, he started to get a better idea of how I was feeling.
The exhaustion in the early stages (1st trimester) is draining enough, but put Pregnancy and Morning Sickness together, it becomes hard to even perform normal day to day tasks.
The constant waves of nausea can cause depression.
It is vital that any help given is accepted, try to rest whenever you can.
I know, I know, I am a Mum of 2 myself, resting whilst caring for children is virtually impossible.
But, if a friend offers to take the kids for an hour, let her.
Try to get as much support as possible from your partner.
If you get emotionally stressed the morning sickness can get worse.
It can be for some women a vicious circle, the nausea upsets them which causes the ill feeling to be worse.
Another annoying thing about it is that the slightest thing can trigger it off, a smell, moving suddenly even swallowing your pregnancy vitamin!
