    • 1). Locate an appropriate place to mount the umbrella holder. Some examples of acceptable places to mount an umbrella holder on a boat seat are on an armrest, on the seat's rear mounting brackets, or on any metal tubing, seat mounting or mounting hardware attached to the seat or close to the seat.

    • 2). Hold the PVC pipe vertically against the surface it will be mounted to.

    • 3). Place the first cable tie around the PVC pipe and the surface it will be mounted to.

    • 4). Loop the cable tie around and lock it into itself. Tighten the cable tie as much as possible to ensure the assembly will stay together.

    • 5). Place another cable tie around the PVC pipe and mounting surface, making an "X" pattern across the first cable tie with the second. Tighten as much as possible.

    • 6). Place more cable ties around the umbrella holder in any fashion and direction necessary and tighten them to hold the PVC firmly in place under the weight of an umbrella.
