How to Make Homemade Lotions From Flowers
- 1). Add a teaspoon of emulsifying wax and one cup of rose water into a bowl and stir together thoroughly.
- 2). In another bowl, microwave two tablespoons of jojoba oil until it is very warm, about twenty seconds or so. Slowly add the warm oil to the wax and rose water mixture and use a hand mixer to blend. This will cause the wax to emulsify and provide the lotion with its texture.
- 3). Boil two cups of water in a medium saucepan. Add a small bunch of fresh lavendar flowers (or any other flowers that you might like to use) to the boiling water and reduce to simmer. Stir occasionally while the flowers infuse in the water for about fifteen minutes.
- 4). Pour the lavendar water through a strainer to remove the flower bits. Add the lavendar water to the lotion base and stir well. Strain the lotion one more time to remove any excess chunks and let sit for an hour.
- 5). Place the lotion in an empty container such as a jar or bottle. Shake well before using.
