March Crafts Ideas
- Create simple, colorful rings for kids to play with by removing the center of a paper plate with scissors. Use rainbow-colored streamers to make tails for the ring. Staple streamers around the edge of the plate, leaving a spot for the child's hand to fit into. Kids can take their rainbow rings outdoors and watch the streamers fly in the breeze.
- Cut a cloud shape out of poster board or construction paper. Cover the cloud with school glue, and place cotton balls all over, leaving a small space in the center for the face. Glue google eyes into the center of the cloud and either draw facial features with a marker or cut them out of construction paper and glue them on to the cloud face.
- Have kids make a list of everything they can think of that is green since that is the color associated with St. Patrick's Day. Depending on the age of the child, this can be pretty funny. Give kids a piece of paper and green crayons and markers to illustrate their list. You can also have kids make their own shamrock and decorate it or give it a face.
- Celebrate Dr. Seuss' March 2 birthday by making a Red Fish, Blue Fish-inspired craft project. Make a fishing pole by tying a string to a wooden chopstick or popsicle stick and attaching a small magnet to the end of the string. Create red and blue fish out of construction paper, and attach a paper clip to each fish. See how many fish you can catch with your pole.
