    • 1). Power down the iPhone. Insert a paper clip or the included SIM card removal tool into the release hole on the SIM card tray located on the top side of the phone. Pull the SIM card tray out of its slot and remove the card from the phone.

    • 2). Remove the two precision-sized Phillips head screws on the bottom edge of the phone on either side of the data port. Place an industrial-grade suction cup on the touchscreen's surface. Press down on the suction cup so it grips the screen's surface.

    • 3). Pull straight up on the suction cup to separate the LCD touchscreen from the phone's back panel. Tilt the screen away from the phone. Remove the touchscreen from the phone completely. Place the screen face down on a flat surface.

    • 4). Locate the black cable labeled with a red 1. This is the cable that connects the LCD to the iPhone's main circuit board. Disconnect the cable from its connector on the main circuit board. This frees the front touchscreen panel from the rest of the iPhone.

    • 5). Remove the three Phillips-head screws from each side of the LCD touchscreen module. Lift the bad screen out of the touchscreen frame and set it aside.

    • 6). Reverse this procedure to install the replacement LCD touchscreen.
