- For this project, you need a clothespin (the traditional wooden kind with a rounded head), a gold chenille stem, tissue paper in yellow or white and a marker. Optional supplies include yarn and a strip of magnetic tape.
Cut the tissue paper into rectangles, approximately 4 by 6 inches. Layer two or three sheets on top of each other, and pinch in the middle like a bow tie. Slide the clothespin down the pinched portion so the tissue paper stays in the clamp and fans out on the sides. These are the angel's wings.
Bend the chenille stem into a circle and add a stem of about 1 1/2 inches. Glue this stem onto the back of the clothespin's round top. This is the halo.
Use your markers to draw a face on your angel. Close her eyes and give her eyelashes with a black marker, and add rosy cheeks and red lips. You can also draw on hair or glue on some yarn hair. You can stick a strip of magnetic tape onto the back of your angel so she can be displayed on the refrigerator. - For an easy angel tree topper, you just need a toilet paper tube, some construction paper, markers and glue. Cover the toilet paper tube in white construction paper. Cut a circle from construction paper for your angel's head; add a face with markers, and glue on some hair with gold or brown paper. Use a yellow circle placed behind and slightly above the head for her halo. Glue this head to the front edge of the toilet paper tube. Cut out two white isosceles triangles for angel sleeves; glue the top ends behind the angel's back, and glue the wide ends around her front. Then add two small construction-paper circles in the same color you used for the face; these will be the hands, clasped in prayer. Your tube angel will sit on top of your tree all holiday season.
- Use sheets of felt or craft foam to make this angel; directions are for felt. You will also need scissors and craft glue.
Cut a circle out of flesh-colored felt. Glue on eyes with white and brown, blue or green felt and add pink felt cheeks and lips. Use brown or red felt for hair and add a circle of yellow felt behind the head for a halo. Now use a length of ribbon or yarn glued in a loop on the back of the head; this will be your hanger. Your angel can hang from a tree, a refrigerator or an office cubicle.
