Petro Oil Tools
- A blowout preventer or BOP is a large device that seals, manages and monitors gas and oil wells. The device closes when an underground zone overly pressurizes, which causes oil or gas fluids to pass through the wellbore, threaten the safety of drillers or the equipment. This function prevents the well from releasing explosive pressure in the atmosphere.
- The oil industry uses low pressure manifolds. The manifolds are an arrangement of piping valves created to maintain, allocate and monitor various types of fluid such as gas or oil. A choke manifold typically sits on the floor of the rig and decreases the pressure of the oil wells, while managing the stream of the oil.
Kill manifold is another type of manifold. Its purpose is to prevent fluids from entering the wellbore. This type of manifold moves reservoir fluids through the wellbore or pumps higher density mud through the wellbore. In some manifolds, it performs both functions. - Oil drillers use pressure control systems such as gate valves or check valves for drilling. A gate valve is a type of regulator that has a sliding gate that stops the flow of fluid. Depending on the valve sealing and operating system, in order for the gate valve to work properly it needs work to be complete open or complete closed. Check valves allow oil or gas to move in one particular direction, and they serve as a either a safety or control device.
- Oil and Gas companies opt for either new equipment or refurbished equipment for drilling petro oil or gas. Some common brands of petro oil tools include Hydril, Shaffer and Cameron. In addition, many companies specialize in aftermarket petro oil tools.
