How to Dye a Marshmallow
- 1). Put enough water in small bowls to submerge the marshmallows. Add the water by tablespoon measurements so that you know how many tablespoons are in the bowl. Fill a separate bowl for each color.
- 2). Add drops of food coloring into the water. Add approximately 1 drop of dye per tablespoon of water. The more drops you put in, the darker the water will turn. Stir the water to mix the food coloring well.
- 3). Drop the marshmallows into the color baths. You will need to hold them down with the spoon to submerge them in the water or they will float on top.
- 4). Keep the marshmallows in the dye for approximately five seconds and remove them from the colored water with a spoon. Use a different spoon for each color. If they are not dark enough, submerge them again for five seconds.
- 5). Remove the marshmallows with a spoon and pat dry with a clean paper towel to remove excess moisture. Place on a clean, non-stick cookie sheet to dry before using.
