What Steam Does

• The high temperature of steam will clean your clothes more thoroughly than washing with water and soap alone. That high temperature can also sanitize your wardrobe and sheets. Steam can also keep clothes wrinkle-free after washing, which means less ironing.
  
  

Drawbacks of Steam Washers

• The cycles on these machines can take longer than those on traditional machines. And they are often not as energy efficient since they need to heat water to a higher temperature than regular machines to create the steam. However, the reduced energy efficiency is offset by the fact that these machines use less water.
