Panic attacks at night are a dreadful experience. They cause you to lose sleep and they make you feel miserable in the morning. People generally lose sleep for two main reasons: Physical pain and mental worrying. People suffer from panic attacks at night because lying in bed is a perfect time for you mind to start racing. When you don't sleep at night your anxiety really starts to pile on until you cannot take it anymore.

People generally need a good eight hours of quality sleep every night. When you get enough sleep you wake up feeling refreshed and relaxed. You shed some anxiety when you can sleep well. Of you are constantly having panic attacks at night you will probably get no more than a few hours of restless sleep per night. You wake up groggy and angry at the world… you just cannot function. When you do not sleep you make your panic disorder much more difficult to deal with.

What are some ways to avoid panic attacks at night?

1) Stay away from things that keep you awake. Make sure you avoid things like alcohol, tobacco, and caffeine before you go to sleep.  Many people will do things like smoke a cigarette or have a drink before bed. They do not realize that these stimulants may be causing their panic attacks at night. Make sure to give yourself a few hours of downtime before you go to sleep.

2) Try not to think of sleep. If you concentrate on falling asleep too much you may be keeping yourself awake and ultimately causing your panic attacks at night. If you constantly have falling asleep on your mind you will probably get frustrated when you cannot fall asleep. If you can just clear your mind you can get rid of your frustrations and you will be able to fall into a deep relaxing sleep.

3) Make sure you exercise during the day and prevent panic attacks at night. Exercise has been proven to lower anxiety in many studies. When you lower your anxiety you are a lot more apt to fall asleep without a problem. Exercise also tends to tire you out. If you go to bed exhausted you are more likely to lie down and fall right asleep.

Following these simple tips will help you prevent panic attacks at night. If you can follow these tips you will get a goodnights sleep and wake up refreshed and ready to face the day. If you stop your panic attacks at night you will be able to live life the way you always dreamed.
