How do I Merge a Word Training Document?
- 1). Open Microsoft Word and a new document. Set up the formatting for the finished document so it will look like you want it to including margins and page orientation.
- 2). Click on the "Insert" tab in the Ribbon. Click on the "Insert Object" drop-down arrow, which is located next to Object in the Text group. Click "Text from File" on the drop-down menu to insert a document into the new document.
- 3). Find the first document you want to add to the training document by scrolling through your files. Double-click on the file name and the file appears in your new document.
- 4). Move your cursor to where you want the next part of the document to begin and click the "Insert Object" drop-down arrow again. You can insert more than one document at a time by holding down the "Control Key" while you are selecting, although the document you select last will be the first document that appears in the newly combined document. For example, if you want the document to have chapter 1 at the beginning, followed by chapters 2 and 3, you would select chapter 3 first, hold down the "Control Key" and then select chapter 2 followed by chapter 1. Click "Insert" when you have finished making your file selections. The documents appear in the merged document.
- 5). Save the merged training document by clicking on the "Microsoft Office Button" and clicking "Save." Give the file a name and click "Save." Correct any formatting errors and save the document again as the merged training document.
