How to Make a Crocheted Headband for Infants
- 1). Make a slipknot with a 3-inch tail and hang it on your hook. Chain five stitches.
- 2). Make one single-crochet stitch in the second chain from the hook and in the remaining three stitches.
- 3). Chain one stitch at the end of the row and turn your work.
- 4). Work every row in single crochet, with a one-stitch turning chain at the end of each row, until the headband measures 13 inches in length and you have one stitch left on your hook.
- 5). Fold the headband in half so the cast-on and bind-off edges touch.
- 6). Insert the hook through the stitch closest to it, going through both the stitch just worked and the stitch across from it on the cast-on edge.
- 7). Wrap the hook and pull the wrap through both stitches and the loop on the hook.
- 8). Continue across the row in this fashion, joining the two edges with slip stitches. You will make a total of four slip stitches.
- 9). Cut the working yarn and pull the tail through the last stitch on the hook. Use the hook to weave the cast-on and bind-off tails along the outer edge of the headband, ending with the last bit of the tails on the inside of the headband.
