How to Pour Candles Into Large Containers
- 1). Place your wick or wicks in the desired places in your container. Use a small dot of super glue on the bottom of each metal tab, and stick it in place at the bottom of your container.
- 2). Heat your wax to a temperature of 170 degrees Fahrenheit to add your fragrance or dye. Check the temperature with your meat thermometer. Thoroughly mix in any dyes or scents you are using.
- 3). Lower the temperature to between 140 and 150 degrees Fahrenheit, and slowly pour the wax into your container. Check the temperature often with your meat thermometer until the wax reaches the appropriate temperature. If you notice bubbles forming, tap the container to "pop" and remove them.
- 4). Allow your candle to cool slowly in a warm area like the inside of your oven (oven should be off). Candles may produce more bubbles and pull away from the container's sides if cooled too quickly.
