How to Landscape a Small Slope

104 21
    • 1). Clear all grass, roots, rocks and debris from the slope.

    • 2). At the bottom of the slope, place garden timbers end to end and stacked until you reach an appropriate level to the slope. Drill pilot holes through the garden timbers and bolt them together or use lengths of re-bar to hold them in place. If you are using re-bar, make sure you have them deep enough in the ground to hold them in place.

    • 3). Measure and cut the garden timbers for the sides with the smallest size on the bottom. Stagger the lengths up against the slope until you reach the same height as the front of the retaining wall.

    • 4). Fill behind the retaining wall with soil to a slightly level area and lay the retaining cloth to completely cover the area. Secure it with various sized rocks.

    • 5). Cut holes in the cloth and lay out the plants or bushes to your particular desire. When you have placed the plants where you want them, plant them in the ground.

    • 6). You should now have a retaining wall with plants and rocks as a focal point.
