Do iPods Support Bluetooth?
- Second-generation and higher models of the iPod Touch support Bluetooth connectivity. In order to utilize the highest number of features for Bluetooth, you should have the latest software version installed. Version 3.0 was the first to heavily incorporate Bluetooth features.
- Apple has not enabled a large line of compatible devices for Bluetooth. A narrow line of Bluetooth speakers are currently supported. Users can also use Bluetooth to connect wirelessly for multiplayer gaming or file transfer apps.
- Older and alternate iPod models can gain Bluetooth connectivity through devices that connect via the dock connector port. These may broadcast audio to Bluetooth-enabled speakers or allow the use of the Nike + iPod service. These devices add extra weight and size to the iPod.
