How to Get Rid of Aphids on Kalanchoe
- 1). Move the kalanchoe into a room away from all other houseplants to prevent the aphids from spreading to healthy plants and to keep infested plants from spreading the aphids back to the kalanchoe. Quarantine all infested plants in separate rooms.
- 2). Fill a spray bottle with warm water. Set the nozzle so it delivers a sharp spray. Spray the underside of the leaves where the aphids are hiding with the water, rinsing them from the foliage. Repeat daily until no more aphids are present. Spraying works best on small infestations.
- 3). Spray the plant with an insecticidal soap every three days for more severe infestations. The soap coats the aphid's body, causing it to suffocate and die.
- 4). Remove badly infested and damaged leaves by snipping them off with a small pair of shears. Dispose of the leaves immediately and do not leave them in the plant's pot or the insects may make their way onto the healthy foliage.
