How to Install a Poulan 42-Inch Deck
- 1). Move your Poulan lawn tractor into position on a flat work area. Engage the foot brake and switch on the parking brake. Disengage the clutch, by pulling the clutch lever down to the "Disengaged" position at the bottom.
- 2). Position yourself on the right-hand side of the mower for the most convenient deck removal and installation position. Press the deck adjusting lever to its highest position to raise up the rear brackets.
- 3). Slide a fully-assembled 42-inch mowing deck underneath the lawnmower. Position the deck so that the rear brackets line up with the suspension arms. Make sure the discharge guard on the mowing deck faces to the right.
- 4). Lower the deck-adjusting lever to its lowest position. Connect the front links to the mowing deck, sliding the retainer spring into the center. Connect the suspension arms to the rear brackets, sliding the retainer spring into the center.
- 5). Slide the anti-sway bar retainer spring into its seat to connect the bar to both halves. Connect the clutch rod to the clutch lever, pushing the retainer spring into the center. Slide the drive belt onto the rear drive belt on the mower. Move the lift lever to its desired cutting height.
