Should You Undergo a Plastic Surgery Penis Enlargement Procedure?
This obsession, with length, is at the root of a lot of insecurities that men have about their ability to satisfy a woman in bed.
It is also why there is a thriving penis enlargement industry offering a dizzying variety of pills, devices and techniques, all of which claim to make men longer, thicker and stronger.
Whether any of these really work remains a matter of debate.
At present, the only permanent method for lengthening the penis that is medically acknowledged is plastic surgery for penis enlargement.
This surgical procedure is formally known as phalloplasty and it involves cutting the ligaments that attach the penis to the pubic bone, allowing it to extend fully out of the body.
This surgery may add at least one inch to the length of your penis.
Another procedure known as a dermal implant adds thickness to the girth of the organ by transplanting fat cells (which are removed from other parts of your body through liposuction) into the penis.
The two procedures are usually performed together.
The surgery also has some undesirable side effects.
In the case of phalloplasty, the penis could end up with scar tissue which would make it look unattractive.
Also, since the penis is no longer attached to the pubic bone, your erection may end up pointing downward and you may lose sensation in it.
However, there is a more expensive procedure that addresses these side effects by reattaching the ligaments after they have been cut using a laser.
There is also an alternative to dermal implant, which is known as AlloDerm.
In this procedure, the transplanted fat comes from a cadaver rather than from your own body, allowing you to avoid the risks of liposuction; but it also costs more than the regular implant procedure.
An increase in length is also not guaranteed as a result of the surgery.
The majority of those who undergo the procedure can expect an average increase of one to two inches when flaccid and just over one inch when erect.
However, up to six percent of patients may not enjoy any increase at all.
And the surgery itself is not enough to ensure a permanent increase in length; stretching exercises using weights are necessary after the operation to ensure the maximum results.
Penis enlargement surgery is also very expensive and can cost thousands of dollars at the very least; and, since it is not covered by insurance you will have to foot the entire bill yourself.
Plus, you will not be able to have sex for some time after the procedure.
In the final analysis, penis enlargement surgery is risky and costly, and the results may not be satisfactory to you.
Thus, you should not undergo it for purely cosmetic purposes but only if it is medically necessary.
After all, there are many natural techniques that you can try to make your penis longer.
And who wants a big penis anyway? Most women believe that size doesn't matter as much as intimacy and caring in lovemaking.
