    Using Paint

    • 1). Create a custom bumper sticker in Paint by opening the program, clicking the "Paint" button at the top-left corner of the screen and selecting "Properties." Set bumper sticker dimensions of 10 by 3 inches and click "OK." The Paint screen automatically adjusts.

    • 2). Click the "Color 1" button and select a color for the bumper sticker text. Choose a bright, dark color so other drivers will be able to read it. Click the "Text" tool, which looks like an "A" on the toolbar at the top of the screen. Select a text and increase the font size.

    • 3). Click the bumper sticker workspace and type the slogan, such as "I Love My Maine Coon Cat." Position the words on the bumper sticker.

    • 4). Click the "Color 1" button and select a new color for the sticker background that contrasts with the text color, such as a light pastel. Click the "Fill with Color" tool, which looks like a paint can, and click the white space of the sticker. The bumper sticker background color fills in behind the text.

    • 5). Click the Paint button, select "Save As," give the bumper sticker a file name and save it to your computer.

    Using Photoshop

    • 1). Draw your own stick figure car sticker by opening Photoshop, clicking "File" and selecting "New." Name the file "StickSticker" and set dimensions such as 4 in. by 4 in. Pull down the "Mode" menu and click "RGB Color." Click the "Transparent" button under the "Contents" section and click "OK" to open the sticker workspace. Pull down the "View" menu and click "Fit on Screen" to give you more room to draw.

    • 2). Double-click the top-left square of the "Color Picker," which is the two overlapping colored squares on the "Tools" palette. Select a light or neon color paint and click "OK."

    • 3). Click the "Paintbrush" tool, pull down the "Brush" head and select a solid brush, such as "#13." Position your cursor over the "StickSticker" box and draw the outline of a stick figure.

    • 4). Draw additional stick figure family members, such as kids or pets, as preferred.

    • 5). Pull down the "File" menu, click "Save As," select "GIF" from the "Format" menu and save the sticker to your computer.

    Using Publisher

    • 1). Take advantage of Publisher's stock art collection to create custom car stickers by opening the program and clicking the "Blank 8.5 x 11" page under the "Available Templates" section.

    • 2). Click the "Page Design" tab on the top toolbar and click the "Size" button. Click "Create New Page Size." Pull down the "Layout type" menu and click "One page per sheet." Type the sticker dimensions into the "Width" and "Height" boxes, such as 3.5 inches by 3.5 inches and click "OK." Publisher resizes the document and zooms it in on the screen.

    • 3). Click the "Insert" tab on the top toolbar. Click the "Clip Art" button. Type a word or phrase into the "Search for" box, such as "car," "hot rod," "truck" or "street racer." Other options include searching for pictures of your interests or hobbies, such as "cats," "construction hat," "football" or "family."

    • 4). Click "OK" and scroll through the available pictures. Double-click a graphic and it appears on the sticker workspace. If it opens too large, press and hold down the "Shift" key, grab a corner and shrink it down to size.

    • 5). Click the "File" tab, click "Save As," type a name for the sticker and save it to your computer.
