Form & Posture - Why is it So Important While Exercising?
I take it that most of you reading this would have gone to the gym before or at the very least performed some sort of exercise.
Have you had a time when you start to hurt instantly after a workout and it lasts for a week or more? Chances are you've just done that particular exercise with the wrong form & posture.
Muscle pain and pain due to wrong posture can be distinguished immediately.
Muscle pains shouldn't last longer than 2-3 days unless you really overdid yourself.
Pain due to wrong posture though can last for a week or more and happens directly after or during a workout.
By the way, muscle pain is totally normal as your muscle has been worked and has got micro tears in them thus it's healing itself.
It's incredibly important that one always have the right posture.
Reason being is that you can get injured otherwise and I do mean getting injured pretty badly if handling heavy weights.
On the bright side you seldom need to go with weights that are overly heavy if you have the right posture as it works the muscle better.
Remember if you have to choose between posture and weights, always go for the right posture.
I have seen people working out in the weirdest ways possible, sometimes shaking the entire machine or moving the weights around in a very dangerous manner.
I then ask them what they are trying to workout.
Most of the time, they just tell me that they actually have no idea, just that it seems to feel like exercising so whatever muscle it works out, it works out.
That doesn't seem like the right approach as first of all, it looks like they have no goal.
Secondly they are going to hurt themselves in the long run and thirdly they may even hurt others around.
Getting injured just isn't worth it and can set you back for weeks if not months, depending on how bad you've injured yourself.
In The Truth about 6 Pack Abs, there are many examples with directions and illustrations on how to keep the right posture.
Just make sure your start and end looks like what has been illustrated as it could keep yourself from injury.
If that's not enough, just ask your friendly trainer at the gym how to do a particular workout properly.
