How to Convert HD TS to MKV With AC3 Audio
- 1). Open AutoMKV (click "Free Trial TS to MKV program" within the second link in the Reference section below) and select the input file (the file you wish to convert), by clicking the "Input File" button in the main window, then selecting your file from the pop-up window. AutoMKV will take several minutes to analyze your file.
- 2). Click the "Select Output Folder" button to choose a save location for your new file.
- 3). Click the drop-down "Audio Format" menu in the "Audio Track 1" area of the main window and select "AC3."
- 4). Choose a video codec in the "Codec" drop-down menu in the "Choose container, codec, and profile" area of the main window. H.264 and Xvid are common and widely compatible codecs.
- 5). Click the drop-down "Container" menu in the "Choose container, codec, and profile" area and select "MKV."
- 6). Click the "Start Encoding" button at the bottom right side of the main window. In a few minutes, a copy of the file in MKV format with AC3 audio will be saved to the location you selected in Step 2.
- 1). Open Ojosoft (see the download link in the Resource section below) and select the input file (the .TS file you wish to convert) by clicking the "Browse..." button in the main window. Select your file from the pop-up window and click "Open."
- 2). Click on the "More" button--second from the right on the top row in the main window--and select "MKV" as the output format.
- 3). Click on the "Browse..." button next to the "Output File Name" field to select the name and save location for the MKV file you are creating. Click "OK."
- 4). Click on the "Edit..." button next to the "MKV Profile" field to adjust the parameters of the output file. You can select the size of the video and the encoder, as well as selecting AC3 audio output.
- 5). Click on the "Convert" button in the lower right portion of the screen to convert your video.
- 1). Open HandBrake (see the link in the Resource section below) and select the input file (the .TS file you wish to convert), by clicking the "Source" button in the upper left portion of the main window. Choose "Video File" in the pop-up dialog, then select your file and click "Open" in the next dialog window. HandBrake will take a few moments to scan your file.
- 2). Click the "Browse" button next to the "Destination" field. In the pop-up dialog window, select the directory where you wish to save your MKV file, then click "OK."
- 3). Click on the "Container" drop-down in the the "Output Settings" section of the main window, then select "MKV."
- 4). Click on the "Audio" tab in the lower portion of the main screen and select "AC3" from the "Audio Codec" drop-down in that tab window.
- 5). Click the "Start" button, second from the left in the top row of buttons on the main screen, to start encoding your MKV file, which will be saved to the directory you selected in Step 2.
