How to Make Homemade Cleansers for Stain Removal
- 1). Add 1 cup white vinegar and 2 cups water to a spray bottle if your carpet is made of synthetic fibers. Use ¼ cup water and ¼ cup vinegar if your carpet has natural fibers.
- 2). Close the spray bottle. Shake the bottle to mix the contents.
- 3). Spray the cleaner onto the stain on the carpet, but do not soak the carpet. Blot the area with a clean cloth until you remove all of the stain. Rinse the area with water from another spray bottle.
- 1). Add 2 tbsp. baking soda to a bowl. Add just enough drops of water to make a thick paste. The paste should be the same consistency as toothpaste. Mix the paste after every drop of water to make sure it is the right consistency.
- 2). Apply the paste cleaner to the stainless steel with a clean cloth.
- 3). Rinse the cleaner off once you've removed the stain and dry the area completely with another clean cloth.
- 1). Cut a lemon in half. Remove all of the lemon seeds.
- 2). Press the open end of the lemon in salt so that it is completely coated.
- 3). Rub the lemon over the stain on the brass. The salt will act as a mild abrasive and the lemon juice will help remove stains.
- 1). Pour 1 cup vinegar into a spray bottle. Add 2 cups water.
- 2). Close the spray bottle lid and shake to combine.
- 3). Spray the cleaning solution on the stain on the leather. Wipe up the stain and the remaining cleaning solution with a clean cloth. Do not soak the leather with the cleaning solution as this could dry it out. Do not use this cleaning solution to clean unfinished leather such as suede or nubuck.
