How to Make a Cubby for Kids
- 1). Cut the wood into five squares. Each square should measure 1-by-1-foot in size.
- 2). Sand all edges of the wood and slightly blunt the edges so as to prevent splinters and sharp angles on the finished product.
- 3). Paint each square, including the edges. Let the wood sit in a well-ventilated area until the paint is completely dry.
- 1). Take two squares and place them edge to edge to form an "L" shape. Nail the two pieces together along the seam.
- 2). Repeat the previous step with two other squares to form another "L" shape.
- 3). Place the two "L" shapes together to form a square box. Nail the pieces together along the two seams.
- 4). Take the final square and place it flat over one of the open sides of the box to form a cube. Nail the piece down so the nails go into the edges of the other four pieces for a secure back. Flip it over and check for nails poking out of the wood.
