When Do Carnations Bloom?
- Carnations produce flowers in the summer months. For best results, plant your carnations in April in a spot where they can get full sunlight and very moist soil.
- Carnations are known for their long blooming periods. In fact, some plants will begin blooming in early summer and continue doing so until the first frost sets in. Their flowers are also known to last a long time once cut.
- Most of the world's carnations are grown in Bogota, Colombia. According to the Trade and Environment Database at American University, four-fifths of America's carnations come from Colombia. The warm climate there allows for year-round carnation blooms.
