How to Reupholster Camper Cushions
- 1). Remove any of the old upholstery. Use it for a pattern or throw it away if it is in really bad shape.
- 2). Wash and dry the new fabric before doing any cutting. Lay the fabric out on a large, flat surface.
- 3). Measure the length and width of the cushion. Add ½ the width of the foam to your cushion measurement for cutting out your fabric. (If your cushion width is 20 inches and your foam is three inches thick, add 1½ inch to the 20-inch measurement.) Do the same for the length of the cushion. Add another inch all the way around for seam allowances.
- 4). Mark out these measurements on your fabric using chalk. Cut out two pieces, one for the top and one for the bottom of the cushion. Cut out the fabric using the scissors.
- 5). Lay the fabric on your large, flat surface again with the right sides of the fabric together. Line up all the raw edges. Use pins to hold the fabric in place along three of the sides.
- 6). Sew from one of the corners all the way around the three sides. Remove the fabric from the sewing machine and trim any threads. Clip the corners ¼ inch from the seam to remove some of the bulk of the fabric.
- 7). Turn the cushion cover right side out.
- 8). Insert the cushion into the cover at the opening. Keep working until you have the corners of the foam properly in place inside the cover.
- 9). Fold under the raw edges of the cover to enclose the cushion. Use pins to hold the fabric in place.

Hand sew the cushion cover closed using a needle and heavy-duty thread to complete the lounge cushion.
