DIY Tomato Stakes
- 1). Press a stake directly behind a tomato plant. Hammer it into the ground with the rubber mallet. Use a stake on either side of the plant if it is a larger variety of tomato.
- 2). Tie each plant to a stake, leaving a 2-inch gap between each tie. Tie the cord tight enough to hold the plant, but not restrict it.
- 3). Repeat building stakes this way, one per plant.
- 4). Check the plants once a week. Tie more of the plant to the stakes as necessary.
