Choosing a Topic For Your Book

103 14
Believe it or not, a lot of authors find choosing topics for their books to be their number one problem whether it be fiction or non- fiction.
Either they don't know which book they want to write first, or they just know they want to write a book but can't decide on a topic.
In this article we will tackle both of these problems so you can start out writing without anymore delays.
The thing is, the answers are simple.
You just have to unlock the secret.
First we'll start with not knowing which book you want to write.
The question is, is it fiction or non-fiction? At this point, you probably have several on the top of your head that you want to write about but you need to start off on the right track and you do this by choosing one book now and saving the others for the later.
In the book Become A Published Author In 7 Easy Steps, you will learn all the techniques you will need to help you from start to finish.
Not only that, but you will be able to create outlines, develop a writer's mindset, set up a writing environment so you can write without being disturbed, and the list goes on.
You can write two books at a time if you want, but to make things simple, you had better just better start with one.
This happens to me as well cause I will find myself working on two or three books at a time but will soon lose track and have to put the other two aside.
So if you're just starting out, writing one book at a time will be best.
Anyway, the decision you make is based on your success.
You want to be successful when you write your book and the less obstacles you have in the way, the faster your success will come.
And the easier it will be.
You have to ask yourself one simple question.
What do you want to achieve? Do you want more money? More creativity? Or do you want to be famous? You have all the reasons in the world to be successful with two or more goals in mind.
But what do you really want? What really calls out to you? Once you figure this out, you'll be writing books that will satisfy you and your readers.
For now, though, you you need to think about what you really want to achieve.
Once you know that, you must then decide which book will take you to your goal the fastest.
Whether it's fiction or non-fiction, the pace will be the same and whatever is easiest, depending on the amount of research you have to do, will be the one you want to go with first.
Keep in mind that working on one book at a time doesn't mean you're abandoning your intentions to work on the others.
You're making a decision that is critical to getting it done.
Work on one book first then move on to the next.
It's as simple as that.
Pick the book that interests you the most.
The one thing you want to avoid is spending too much time during the decision-making-process.
So pick a topic and go with it.
If you don't like it you can always change it later.
The writing you do now is more important than sitting around wondering what you're going to write about or what your book is going to be about.
The more time you spend wondering, the less time you have for writing.
Don't be concerned if you suddenly find yourself three or four chapters into your book and you decide you want to work on another.
This is okay.
It happens to everyone, but you need to remember that you absolutely have to complete the manuscript you're working on and as quickly as possible.
Once that has been accomplished, you can then move on to the next.
Accomplishing one goal is more important then not accomplishing any goal.
You now have to figure out what your book is about and decide on a topic.
Some writers already have the topic in mind before they even start writing.
Others find it more difficult, and if you're one of those writers who find it difficult, this article will help you.
If you're fond of non-fiction you should write non-fiction first.
If you're more fond of fiction then you should head in that direction, keeping in mind that the decision itself is more important then pondering over it hours on end.
There is no right or wrong, it doesn't matter as long as you know what book you're going to write first and the topic you're going to write about.
Remember to choose a topic that you know about.
The more you know about it, the easier it will be to write it.
Look around and see what problems people are having in their daily lives.
Are they smokers who are trying to quit? Are they drinkers who find they have too much to drink? Maybe they're having sex related problems? Or they're over weight.
The solution to the problem is how your book will sell and the more popular it will be.
If your book is fiction, pick a genre that will captivate your audience.
Pick one that is most widely read.
From here, you can start on your book and finish it no time at all.
