You and Your Apple Body Shape
The other three being the Ruler, Hourglass and the Pear Body Shape.
Frequently, people make it out that there are more Body Shapes than this but in reality nearly all women's bodies' can be recognized as one of these four.
The individual with the Apple Shape can have their body characterized as being well rounded in the midsection hence the Apple Shape.
When an Apple gains a few pounds the weight predominantly resides around the midsection exposing a protruding belly and a barrel like chest.
While this appearance may cause problems in terms of self-esteem, it can also result in issues relating to general Health which is far more worrying.
It's fair to say that the Apple type can be more problematic in terms of Health due the region in which subcutaneous and visceral fat that lies around the body when weight is put on.
Most of the time this excess fat can put pressure on vital organs such as the kidneys, liver, hearth and so on which effect their function.
What's more is that Apples are the ones who are most susceptible to Heart disease and Type 2 diabetes.
For the most part, there is not much wrong with having an Apple Body Shape as Oppose to the other three -determined from the Body Shape Questionnaire.
The problem - with relation to health - only really occurs when excess weight is put on and has negative implications on health and well-being.
Other that I would not feel dejected over having an Apple Shape.
All the other 3 types be it a Pear, Ruler or Hourglass all have their problem regions be it at their Hips for a Pear, arms for a Hourglass or whole body for a Ruler.
The main take home message to shape your body the way you want is to exercise for an hour each day and eat smaller portions of wholesome and nutritious food.
By taking this into consideration there is no reason why you cannot achieve you're Ideal Body Shape.
