How to Repair a Computer Chair Base
- 1). Turn the computer chair upside down, exposing the bottom of the chair and the base. Clean out any dust, dirt or cobwebs from the bottom of the chair.
- 2). Tighten any loose screws. Inspect the base to determine if any screws are missing. If there are some missing, purchase a replacement that is the same size as the original. Screw all new screws back into place.
- 3). Tighten all bolts with a ratchet if there are any in addition to the screws.
- 4). Inspect the base for any cracks or broken pieces. Glue the cracks or missing pieces in place with epoxy glue. Mix the two parts of the glue together, then carefully spread the glue over the two sides of the crack or broken pieces. Hold the pieces in place for about one minute. Use a clamp to hold broken pieces in place. Wipe away excess glue with a damp cloth. Allow the glue to dry for 24 hours.
- 5). Inspect the wheels. Replace any wheels that are broken or damaged in any way. Reattach the wheels using screws or by sliding them into the holes on the bottom of the chair base. You may have to glue some of the wheel pieces back together as well. Allow the glue to dry for 24 hours.
- 6). Flip the chair back over. The chair base should now be stable enough to use again.
