Acne Adolescent, Part Of Life

103 14
Are you an acne adolescent? You are all ready for your Prom night and you take a glance in the mirror only to see your face has erupted into a zillion horrific pimples, zits and whiteheads! Take heart, as acne and adolescence go together, but can be less of a problem with the correct solutions.
Acne during adolescence is not uncommon at all, and most often skin eruptions occur between the teen years of 12 and 20.
This is because during adolescence, hormone levels get elevated, and these elevated levels stimulate the sebaceous glands to produce greater amounts of an oily substance called sebum.
When a hair follicle is clogged with extra sebum and dead skin cells, your sensitive skin is prone to develop a blackhead, white head or pimple.
Teenage acne typically lasts for 5-10 years.
Some extreme cases of severe teen acne also known as nodular acne or cystic acne may continue through adulthood.
Living with acne for 5 - 10 years can be emotionally harrowing, but a few tips will help you cope with your nightmare.
Teenage Acne Management Tips The golden rule is to wash your face at least twice a day, drink plenty of water and make sure your diet is balanced with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables to keep your skin oil free.
Most mild cases of acne can be kept under check by gently keeping the affected areas clean at all times and using a topical preparation, such as benzoyl peroxide.
In severe cases, a dermatologist may give oral medication along with topical ointments to alleviate your problems.
Resist the urge to squeeze or pick the spots, as that only aggravates the condition and results in scarring.
Most important - accept your teenage acne as part of life - it will go vanish in due course.
