3 Lies Skinny Guys Follow to Gain Muscle
I worked out a lot when I was younger to try and gain weight because of my thin skinny physique.
Then, I had a breakthrough in 2002 when I gained 24 pounds of muscle.
I realized many things I did when I was younger to increase my muscle mass was completely wrong.
Here they are so you don't make the same mistakes I did: 1.
Workout too much When I was a teenager, I joined the weightlifting club in high school and worked out a lot.
I gain some muscle definition in my skinny frame but never gained any weight.
I realized now that was the wrong thing to do.
You don't get bigger muscles in the gym.
The hardness or temporary size increase after your workout doesn't mean it will last.
You should limit your workouts to 2 to 3 times a week and rest your muscles.
This is when you muscles will grow.
2.
Eat a lot of (the wrong) food Being a hardgainer, I could eat whatever I want and could never gain any weight.
Even when I was working out, I would eat a big breakfast, lunch and dinner and still barely any muscle gain.
I know now that it isn't how much food you eat.
It is about the type of foods you eat and their quality.
I started to move from skinny to muscle only after eating proper foods with the right portions daily.
3.
Use machine weights Back in the high school workout room, my friends and I would hang out by the machine weights and use them.
We would do lat pulldowns, machine bench press and other exercises on the machine.
I moved up to different levels on the machine but I didn't progressed quickly.
I didn't see much results in my skinny body.
When I had my big physical transformation in 2002, I gained muscle only through using free weights.
The reason they are so effective is because you are not just working out the muscle you are targeting but other secondary muscles are affected too.
This is better at triggering to your body that your muscles need to grow than machines weights.
