Car Or Motorcycle?
Therere many forms of transportation out there, but trying to decide which one is best for you could be difficult. I will not be able to make the choice for you, but I will be giving you some of the positive and negative impacts of owing a motorcycle opposed to a car. Personally, I have both, and it is a really nice combination to have. As many people know, Arizona is a very hot state for the majority of the year, and just based on that, some people may throw out the idea of owning a motorcycle. Although it can get very hot in the summer, especially while riding without a/c, you can still enjoy the ride.
The weather is a key factor in deciding whether or not you are going to buy a motorcycle. As stated earlier, the temperature is a key factor, but you also have to deal with rain, snow, or even hail. Personally, I think Arizona is one of the best states to live in because, while its very hot in the summer for the most part its really nice riding weather. In Phoenix, Arizona, theres no snow, hail, tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, or many other natural forms of disaster. The worst thing weather wise that would happen in Phoenix would be it would rain or it would get really hot outside. You usually dont have a/c on a motorcycle, so it can get pretty hot, but you also have the air so it is not as hot as driving a car without a/c. Also, when it rains, the roads can be very slick, which is a safety concern. Most of the time, I dont ride in the rain, just to be safe.
The fuel efficiency is another key factor many people take into consideration when deciding whether or not to buy a motorcycle. The tanks are significantly smaller than a cars, yet they can still almost drive the same amount of distance on a tank as a tank on a car. Also, take into consideration the cost of maintaining the vehicles reliability. Therere more things on a car that seem to go wrong than on a bike. My experience has been that cars cost more to maintain than bikes.
Another key factor would be just the price of purchasing a motorcycle. The prices can fluctuate drastically depending on the type of motorcycle it is. For example, a Harley Davidson would most likely cost more than the typical crotch rocket. You could buy a good looking reliable motorcycle cheaper than a car of the same year and condition. Another main factor many people to take into consideration is the price of their monthly insurance. With a motorcycle, the insurance rates are really low, especially if you own the bike and have just collateral on it. Also, while driving a motorcycle you become more alert and heighten your senses. You also improve your reaction time. You could take owning a motorcycle, positively or negatively. Starting with the positive attributes, you avoid more accidents from the heightened sense of awareness, and increased reaction time. You tend to learn them from drivers who are ignorant and either cut you off, turn in front of you, and many other reasons.
I have mainly given positive reasons you should own a motorcycle, and like everything theres a negative side as well. One main reason why someone would not want to own a motorcycle would be the safety factor. If you are in any type of accident, your injuries will most likely be more severe and life threatening, than if you were driving in a car. Also, you will not be able to carry more than one passenger at a time. That could be perceived negatively to some people. Some people would consider not being able to talk or text while driving would be a negative aspect to owning a motorcycle, but it is a reason why your senses are heightened. You also would not be able to haul around cargo as if you had a truck, or even do something as simple as shop for groceries like if you had a car.
