Arts, crafts, building and science toys are wonderful educational options for creative youngsters. There are all manner of toys available for a range of budget constraints which makes creative gifts some of the easiest to find. You can find gifts in both dollar stores and high-end department stores with just a little effort. - Arts and crafts are readily available for children, although the majority seem to be oriented toward young girls, which may alienate some boys, so you may need to be picky when buying. Fortunately, there are many different kinds of art sets ranging from color pencil sets to acrylic painting kits with easels and a painting pad. There are also many sewing and beading kits that can be easily found for only a few dollars in most discount stores.
- Building toys are usually intended for boys but they are a great option for girls as well. You can find toys and project such as building and painting small bird houses or even simple furniture like benches easily. Many simple wood projects can be found in art supply store for as little as $1 although they can be more expensive. However, for the budget conscious gift giver building toys tend to be the cheapest. For older children and young teens you may even consider giving them real toys and teaching them to build as your gift. A more expensive option may be a robot building kits or sets like Legos or Kinecs.
- Science toys are usually found in educational sites and catalogs and can be dauntingly expensive for some people. These toys range from chemistry sets, on the pricier end to an at home experiment creating rock candy. You may be able to get creative when assembling these gifts to lower the price. For example if you are giving a rock tumbler set or a magnifying glass to view them under you may also want to take your child on a hike to find interesting specimens as part of the gift.
