    • 1). Sew the front piece to the back piece on one side seam, right sides of the fabric together, using either a machine stretch stitch or an overlock stitch. Sew all seams 3/8" from the fabric edge.

    • 2). Sew the other side seam.

    • 3). Sew the left inseam of the pant front to the left inseam of the pant back, right sides of fabric together. Leave the gusset hole open and only sew the pant inseam.

    • 4). Sew the right inseam of the pant front to the right inseam of the pant back.

    • 5). Pin the gusset into the gusset hole which should now be apparent. The gusset corners should snugly fit into all 4 corners of the opening.

    • 6). Sew the gusset into the hole beginning at the left inseam, continuing around the square. At the corners, pick up the foot of the machine and rotate the fabric to maintain the angles of the square opening.

    • 7). Turn back the hem of the neckline, armhole and pant legs 1/2-inch towards the wrong side of the fabric and pin.

    • 8). Sew down the hems 3/8-inch from the fold edge using a machine stretch stitch or a double needle cover stitch.
