    • 1). Click "Start," then "All Programs" and check if the SoundDriver software is installed. If it is not, insert the SoundDriver CD-ROM that came with the Flextone II and install the SoundDriver software. If you don't have the SoundDriver CD-ROM, then download Line 6 Edit (see Resources).

    • 2). Click on the desktop icon for the Sound Blaster control center if you have a Sound Blaster card installed. Click "MIDI" and make sure the external MIDI port is enabled instead of the default built-in synth.

    • 3). Check that the "MIDI Out" on your computer's sound card is connected to the "MIDI In" on the Flextone II, not the other way around.

    • 4). Press the "MIDI" button on the Flextone and change the MIDI channel to "A" to ensure that SoundDriver can pick it up.

If "No New Device Is Found" Dialog Appears

    • 1). Click "Manually," which brings up the SoundDriver Memory Manager window.

    • 2). Click "Out Port" and select your sound card from the drop-down list.

    • 3). Click "Device ID" and change its value to "I."

    • 4). Click "User Programs," which highlights all the preset locations.

    • 5). Click the button in the upper left that looks like a keyboard with an arrow and a question mark. This queries the Flextone for all its current programs.
