How to Remove Sitting Water From a Dishwasher With No Drain
- 1). Allow 30 minutes for the water in the dishwasher to cool down. If you open the door while the water is extremely hot, the steam could burn your hands.
- 2). Locate the breaker that controls the dishwasher in your breaker panel and turn it off. In most cases, the dishwasher is directly connected with the electrical system and has no power plug for you to unplug.
- 3). Push in on the door latch, lower the door and empty the dishwasher of all dishes. Lift the bottom tray up and off the dishwasher door. Place it off to the side. This gives you easy access to the sitting water.
- 4). Place a bath towel into the basin of the dishwasher and soak up water. Remove the towel and ring it out over an empty bucket or into your kitchen sink.
- 5). Place the towel back into the basin and repeat the soaking and ringing process until you soak up and remove all of the water.
