How to Make Fractions in Word in Windows 7
- 1). Position the text entry cursor at the point in your document where you want to insert the fraction.
- 2). Press the “Ctrl” and “F9” keys on your keyboard simultaneously. An equation field consisting of field braces – the “{ }” characters – appears on the screen.
- 3). Type “EQ \F(1,2)” between the field braces, replacing “1” with the numerator and “2” with the denominator. The numerator is the number that appears over the denominator in the fraction.
- 4). Verify the equation field looks similar to the following:
{ EQ \F(1,2)} - 5). Press the “Shift” and “F9” keys together with the text entry cursor inside the equation field. Word replaces the equation field with a fraction.
