Safety

1

Activate the chain brake. This brake is designed to stop the chain immediately if there is a kickback on your machine. This break will activate automatically, but you can turn it on manually by pushing the front hand guard forward with your left hand.
2

Know where the stop switch is located so you can completely turn off the device at any time. The switch is located just above the handle and has an arrow pointing to the right.
3

Wear the appropriate safety equipment when using this chainsaw. You should always wear eye protection, a helmet, safety gloves and work boots when operating this type of machinery.

Assembly

1

Mount the guard bar and chain. Remove the bar nuts and the plastic cover over the clutch. Remove the transportation ring, a small ring between the two bar nuts.
2

Place the bar over the bar bolts. Fit the chain onto the drive sprocket and into the groove on the bar. Make sure the cutting edge is facing upward, on top of the bar. Reinstall the transportation ring and clutch cover and tighten the bar nuts with your hands.
3

Adjust the tension of the chain using a combination wrench. Turn the chain adjuster screw until the chain fits snugly against the bottom of the bar. When there is no slack on the underside of the bar, the chain is properly tightened.
4

Use unleaded gasoline to operate the chainsaw. For best results, use the designated Husqvarna two-stroke oil, with a mixing ratio of 1:50 or 2 percent. The fuel tank is located on the left side of the saw, near the handle.

Start and Stop

1

Place the chainsaw on the ground to start it. Hold the front of the saw down with your right foot inside the handle.
2

Slowly pull out the starter handle with your right hand until the saw engages. When it does, pull sharply on the starter handle.
3

Push the choke control on the handle in immediately when the engine starts.
4

Stop the chainsaw by switching the ignition to the "Off" position. The ignition switch is located just above the handle and has an arrow pointing to the right. Push the switch to the right.
