Will Asparagus Fern Survive in Full Sun?
- Although asparagus fern adapts well to different levels of light, it prospers best in bright light but not under the heat of direct sun. It flourishes as a ground cover under trees that filter the light and provide shade for part of the day. Asparagus fern will change from green to yellow if cultivated in dark or very shady areas.
- Hot climates are best for growing asparagus ferns. It is a tough plant, however, that can typically rejuvenate itself even after succumbing to frost and freezing temperatures. Asparagus ferns in pots require moist soil that is allowed to dry between waterings.
- Tamed asparagus ferns grown in pots are popular houseplants, especially for beginners, as they withstand almost all forms of light and water abuse. Its feathery fronds make it a popular addition to floral bouquets and it grows well in sunny window boxes or on windowsills.
