Installation of a Beaded Pool Liner
- 1). Drain the water from the old liner and remove it. Use a hand tamper to repack the sand under the liner. If necessary, add more pool sand. Check the levelness of the sand with a carpenter's level.
- 2). Unwrap the liner and remove it from the box. Let it set in the sunshine for about 30 minutes to warm the vinyl.
- 3). Remove your shoes as you work with the liner inside the pool. Pull the liner into position along the floor of the pool. Center the liner in the pool as you work out some of the larger wrinkles on the floor.
- 4). Stand at the mid-point of the north side of your pool. Pull the liner side up and over the wall until the bead snaps into the bead receiver. Repeat this process at the mid-point of the south side of the pool. Snap the liner in place on the mid-point on the pool's west side and then on its east side. Lock the receiver in position at the northwest, southwest, northeast and southeast positions. At this point there should be even distribution of the pool liner around the pool.
- 5). Snap the beaded pool liner into the bead receiver all the rest of the way around the pool. Work as many wrinkles out of the liner as you can now that the liner is hanging in position. It may not lie flat on the corners.
- 6). Use a garden hose to add 3 inches of water to the pool. As it fills, use the weight of the water to finish stretching out any remaining wrinkles and to pull the liner tight against the walls and corners.
- 7). Continue filling the pool until it has 2 feet of water in it. Monitor the beads so that none pop out of the bead track as the pool fills. If one does, slip it back into position.
- 8). Install the skimmer and return if it's a new pool. Line up the skimmer's face plate according to the manufacturer's directions. Mark its location. Cut the liner with a utility knife and attach the face plate to the pool wall with screws enclosed in the assembly package, ensuring the gasket is in place between the two. Finish filling the pool.
